Hi.
I'm restoring a 1984 RZ500 I imported into the UK from Australia. I've had the engine rebuilt and it's ready to go back into the frame. I need some advice on how best to restore the frame back to new condition (or as near as). Please see below:

Re: Frame Restoration Advice?
If you are going to get your frame and bits resprayed Silver, BASF R-M Diamont Code: MM024.60 is a very close match.

Thanks - is that what people tend to do, get it vapour blasted and then spray it? Would you do the swinging arm as well? I want it to be the same standard as the engine (in the picture).

Re: Frame Restoration Advice?
Swing arm is anodized with natural color.
A local company told me they cant promise that it gets an even color after removing the old layer and putting a new one on it.
Especially at the welds it can happen that it gets darker.
But also heard from a friend that this company (his company used them in the beginning) is not really good at what they do.
Switched to a company in Germany and they got much better results there.
Best for the frame would be stripping off the paint with chemicals and then blast it to get a good surface for paint.
I will phosphatize the whole frame before painting to increase the rust protection.
