Depends on the depth of your pockets.

As a low budget lover I have a direct comparism for RGV250 and R6 (early, conventional fork) front end on my RZ350.
R6 is 6kg lighter, fully adjustable and has a wider 3.5x17 rim.
For the higher weight of a 500 you may need a stiffer spring in the R6, so getting the same years R1 should also do the job.

On my RD500 I used the early FZR1000 (2LA) fork. It was better than stock, but from today's view that's outdated.

Do not get tempted to use 125 cc single disc forks like the SZR has. I use Cagiva Mito in my road bike and know other people using similar forks in 350 race/road bikes.
For high weight or race use the single disc is not sufficient and the fork flexes like hell under braking which makes the oil seals fail.
Bye

hi thanks for the reply, Nigel at nk racing is going to do the swingarm and get the motor in. Going to use the r6 rear just wondering about the forks at the moment, from looking i will need some custom yokes making for them to work
