Anti dive valve "O" rings

#1 Post by Marty » Mon Apr 13, 2015 2:06 pm

Hi Guys

Stripped off the the front end of the RZV to replace the fork seals. I had to remove the Anti Dive units. There are 4 "O" rings sealing the oil from the fork leg. Are these standard "O" rings or Yamaha specific? If the latter where can I get them from as Yambits and the like in the UK don't appear to stock them.

Thanks

Marty

I got some from Partzilla.com they were like $7 a piece though! Cheaper to buy a full o-ring kit from Home Depot!

According to my excel list they should be:
2,4x11.8 JIS B 2401 P

11,8mm inner diameter
2,4mm diameter of the rubber
Standard: JIS B 2401 P (Japanese Industrial Standard)

Measured from a new original part and measurement compared to all Japanese O-Ring standards i have found (JIS and JASO).
My bikes:
RD500 YPVS 1GE
RD350 YPVS 31K 1985
Honda CBR 1000 RR SC57
Yamaha R1 RN04

They just seal the fork oil which isn't under high pressure or hot so good quality "O" rings of the same size and section will be fine. I just replaced mine form a kit I have however, any good bearing supplies store will have them for a small cost. :-)
Love classic 2 Strokes
