No problem. I was the 5th person, so we should get the group buy discount. :smt038

Thanks Pete. Ted sent confirmation out yesterday. He will re-invoice to include the extra 5% discount. :smt006

Haven't heard anything for a while.

That spring looks HEAVY DUTY!

Can't tell from the pic - is the shaft chrome or black?

Great looking shock!

Got mine last Friday the 28th, tried to post that I did and keep getting error message when submitted, this morning too. Admin is working on it, if this posts it's fixed yay!
Anyway thanks to Ken here on the board and to Ted Porter at BMW Shop!
Smoker - the shaft is chrome.

Sent an email a few days ago (Saturday) to check on the shock.

Ordered at the end of October - so it's been a good while.

Got a phone message today from Ted Porter.

Turns out they NEVER BUILT THE SHOCK!!! :smt013

Some bullshit about a misunderstanding in Germany.

Unfortunately, I don't think it's going to happen any time soon.

Two days ago, I got an email from Wilbers that said my color choice for the spring is not in their catalog.

I was told they could do most any RAL color, and I chose the color when the order was placed.

In the meantime, I purchased matching powder (in December) - and it's a fucking miracle that I haven't used it on any parts, yet.

Two days ago, they also sent me a link to a page with all of their color choices. If only they would have sent it when they first told me about powder coating - I wouldn't have to eat the cost of the powder, and have more time wasted!

Extremely disappointed with Wilbers and The Beemer Shop, so far. :smt011

It has not occurred to you to PC the standard Wilbers shock spring when you receive it? You have the powder and plan to have other items painted. Cost would be minimal and there would be no further delays from Wilbers waiting to have something custom painted. The spring can be easily removed and replaced when done..
If I disagree with everyone, that doesn't make me right. If I take the side of only one, it doesn't end the fight. If my position's strong enough from exposure to the light, you may see things my way when we share the same highway.

Yes, not a bad idea at all.

But, I'm not sure that the delay is due to the powdercoating. They're doing some kind of black coating to a few of the shock parts, which I think they do in house.

If the reservoir hose isn't the perfect length, I'm planning on changing the hose and recharging the new shock. Couldn't get exact measurements without their reservoir in hand.

I'm also stuck waiting on the titanium axles and suspension parts - so, I'm not really losing any riding time. Still a ridiculous amount of time to wait for a new purchase.

I forgot to mention the $200 minimum charge, per color, for powdercoating at my local shop. :smt102

Per color. So, if I want one red bolt and one black bolt, it's $400.

I never go to the office, if I can help it. I always try to deal with the dudes in the shop. Only paid office prices a couple of times. But, I always try to take in several parts - just in case the cost is high.
