Ride day at Broadford

#1 Post by Ron57 » Wed Mar 30, 2016 2:52 am

Hi, finished both bikes in time to go over for a ride. Took two bikes over the streetfighter and a Kenny Roberts replica. Had a few jetting issues on the KR bike still had a great time. Been about 9 years since I've been on a track. The moment of glory when this bloke rocks up to ask about the bikes especially about the streetfighter, Kevin want's to graft his rg500 into a rgv, really liked the bikes not to keen on the color.

You know you are doing something right when a GP legend comes over to see what you are up to.
Nice bikes, must have been a great day.

Great post. Kevin wants to graft his rg500 into an rgv? He owns a beautiful red/black ch model. I would hope he would keep it as is and build an RGV from preferred parts and an engine, or buy one similar to mine? The RGV250/500 is a superior bike by far but it would still be a shame to carve up a very nice stock one. No disrespect to Kevin intended.

Kevin isn't famous for his knowledge of chassis science or tuning ability.

Having ridden several Aprilia and RGV250 conversions built to a high standard, I am no fan of the beast.
If I disagree with everyone, that doesn't make me right. If I take the side of only one, it doesn't end the fight. If my position's strong enough from exposure to the light, you may see things my way when we share the same highway.
