September 7 COTA track day video soon

#1 Post by pstamper » Mon Sep 08, 2014 6:01 pm

Like more video at Circuit Of The Americas on the RZ/R6 eating up the liter bikes? The slicks and rebuilt shock worked great and I was much more comfortable on the bike on a beautiful track. Used turn marks that were put down and found out most were out of place. Videos will still be good. Rained in morn and track dried out about 1 PM. Was cool in the morning so rode easy on the damp track and worked on breaking points for later in day. Love passing the Ducatis and BMWs, sometimes twice. Posting video as soon as I get time.

Beautiful Texas sunrise with amphitheater in background

Rainbow to start the morn looking over front straight

End of turn 16,17,18. Giant triple apex

Sun coming out and ready for 3rd session of day

Bike fit for hotter track. RV was a nice group from Lubbock Texas.

What a difference a good track does for tire wear

Video finally up. Had instructor follow me with camera and discuss the ride in class. He said he was really surprised after kick starting the bike. Especially going on pace straight out of pit. Have Woodcraft Warmers and the pirelli slicks worked great. Never an oh shit moment. Front tire is worn more than rear from breaking I think. Will need new pads soon and do a good cleaning on the rotors. It rained in morn and took till after lunch to dry completely. Need bigger front sprocket for this track. The engine did great with the air temp near 95 and 60% humidity. Instructor also said bike was spitting fuel out at end of back straight under heavy breaking. Time fork overflow bottles. And as usual thanks Rick for a great engine. Nice not to think about it and also passing the big liter ducatis.bmws, and other modern sport bikes. Will post the other session soon.
