Some pics from today..
My Dad did around 45 miles on his Bantam to get to mine and during that time it shed 2 engine mounting bolts and nigh on dropped the exhaust off the bike as well so it needed some TLC before we left for the meet.

Great looking turnout. I recall when the RG50 Gamma was the buzz bike to have. Well unless you lusted after the RZ50
Did Kevin ship his 500 to the U.K. for attending this and other events? I was under the impression his bike was here in Texas.

We never got the really trick 50s over here in the UK so the RG50 is a real rare thing, would have killed for one of these when I was 16!
Im fortunate enough to live quite near to Steve Wheatman who sometimes supports these local events and rolls out some exotica to add to the day, last year he had an ex Phil Read RG500 at this event and at the end of the year, he bought Kenny Roberts juniors RGV to another event...(pictures on the board)
If you havent heard of Steve Wheatman, he is a rather keen Suzuki race bike collector (IIRC he owns around 50-60 race bikes and 100+ road bikes) and runs the likes of Michael Dunlop at the classic TT on the the (copy) works XR69s.

I too dreamed of an RG50 or even an RZ50 but sadly it was not to be. Only the richest coolest kids had those new bikes LOL
As for the RGV500 on show, I wasn't doubting the depth of local goodies, I was referring to the many magazines that have featured Kevins RGV500 in his den out at his ranch. But I suppose he spends so much time in Europe these days it makes sense for the bike to be there as well. Or there are lot more of Kevin's RGV500's survived than expected. I think he was riding a different one on June 17th.
