Well the show is coming up quickly at just over 2 weeks from now. Anyone plan on attending? I'll be there with 4 bikes one of which will be for sale. Get your bikes cleaned up and come on out for a good time!

Is anybody going to the two-stroke extravaganza that might be able to give me some pointers on a front and rear conversion I need to take notes and learn exactly how to do this first hand I've got all my parts most of them at least but I do not know exactly the steps once I know that I will be clear to go hopefully it will be some here that can get me to a rolling chassis once I am at that point things will move along more quickly

This was supposedly a rolling chassis when I bought it the guy that did it was supposed to be held in high regard as far as he knows what he's doing type of RZ 2 stroke guy but it turns out he was just full of s*** so I don't trust any of his work. FYI this is also a " Three five O " frame not..a 500. Theres no examples on the side of the forum..that are helpful to me, (for the most part) nothing straight foreward, Just owners completed conversions done by others, and my set up differs from all of them..so i want to understand it top top bottom.

Note ** I am not too interested in sending it to a shop to have somebody do it, ONLY if I need Welding and Fabrication which I do not think I will need "at this point" .
I want to do this on my own and understand it from top to bottom on my own if I put it in a shop it might be years before I see it.. LOL

Also if anybody knows of anything on the web that shows exactly what to do and what not to do on amotorcycle for this process, let me know.
It's the spacers stem etc.. and (I've never done it )so it's all new I have to get my head around it.

Thanks any help is appreciated.

The conversion is really simple, Send your swingarm off to RGVsteve or Nigel Kimber and they will weld the proper shock mount and supply the spacers and bearings, The R6 front end can be done 3 different ways, 1. Press the RZ500 stem in and use the stock 500 bearings, 2. Use the R6 triple and have the above guys make spacers and supply bearings. 3. Use the R6 triple and use the ALL Balls bearing kit and bolt it in,
I did option 2, I didnt know about option 3 till I had it done!!

You will need to tweak the R6 top clamp a little to allow the RZ500 ignition lock to fit and actually lock the steering when you turn the key the whole way.

Thats it, Its one of the easiest front and rear conversions I have done.

Thanks for the reply..but unfortunatley it doesnt really help me. I'm on a budget & really cannot afford to ship a complete bike...coast to coast twice.

If I had a Idea of just a ballpark cost of shipping a entire bike and basic cost of a conversion..I"d be alot more tempted to have another do it.

Thats why I'd like some instructional help ...so I can do it myself.
Also my front components are not the normal R-6. Im using custom attack racing upper & lowrr triples housing revalved Honda RC-51 fork tubes, the rear is a alloy FZR400RR Deltabox swingarm utilizing a NSR250 rear wheel.

I've tried fitting the front...but I'm missing something obvious? I thought I had everything I needed but apparantly I was wrong..likley due to me not understanding whats required..lol

No need to ship the entire bike. Steve has frames that he uses for mock up. Send him the proposed complete triple clamp assembly and the stock lower triple clamp so he can press out the stem and adapt it to the new triples. Send the fzr swing arm and he'll do what's necessary to make it fit. I'm certain he has a 350 frame to use for mock up. Once he has done his magic, you'll be able to bolt everything up as if it was made for the bike originally. Good luck and I hope to see you at the show!

This is such B.S. that people wait until the last days before an event and then claim its "new news". He even has posted publicly that the event has been..."cancelled". WTF..is it or isnt it?
I have plans w several other people to go and has been planned for months, as the show was advertised months ago.

USA2 strokers used to be a great site, but a few regulars literally ruined it and ran everyone off the site. Seriouslly there is literally perhaps a dozen posts there a month..if that, its been rhat way for years now. Hell I can't even log in anymore & Ive posted there since the late 90s.

I think in previous years there was some controversy regarding the 2 stroke shows held at Cooks Corner, Wicked ATV and maybye even last years as well ?? but I've been to all of them and they were great shows with a lot of very nice people and nice machinery.

I don't want to be forced into taking sides I just want to go and enjoy the motorcycles and other people like me and my friends so I will certainly be going if it is held! if they want to play games such as this.... that's on them.

I am not waiting for another show that " possibly maybe might materialize in the fall with the correct trademarked name" that's like me waiting for the promised "soon" Moto Carrera RZ 350 rear sets that have been coming for 14 years..

I respect and have supported Doug and all that he has done for the two stroke community, but these events do not come around very often for many of us little guys or just average Joe enthusiasts, many have had plans
& some people put off trips and work commitments just to attend this gathering.

I guarantee you if I have known about this event for months so has (everybody that has ever been involved with it )
Waiting until the last few days to pull this is not acceptable Its not fair to many of us who just want to go and have a good time I am not there to line anybody's pockets it is a common sharing of our hobbies to trying and sabotage it in this way not acceptable to me by posting that it is "boycotted and cancelled " 48 hrs before.

I totally understand where "they" or "Doug" is coming from, but it is not a cool thing to do for us the spectators. I sure hope the show is not cancelled that will be a real bummer.
If we make this trip out there along with many others I'm sure and that is the case (a cancellation) I will wash my hands of all these shows in the future regardless of who promotes them.
