Broadford bike bonanza

Broadford bike bonanza
I went to the Broadford bike bonanza this weekend held at the broadford motorsport complex in victoria .
The theme for this years event was the Castrol 6 hour race. The race was held in Australia from 1970 to 1987 and was open to production bikes from the era. A show room showdown if you like. The RZ 500 won the race in 1984 against all the production bikes from that year.
It was a great weekend with a lot of race bikes from the era attending. I will upload some pics of a few of the bikes later.

Hi Steve,
Looking great and the weather seemed to be with you. Were you able to give it some?
Was that Richard Scott on Brian's 500?

Re: Broadford bike bonanza
Hi Adrian yes the weather was fine all weekend and I had four 15 min sessions on saturday and the same on sunday.
Yes that was Richard Scott on Brians 500.
There was only 3 RZ500's there which surprised me I thought there would be more.
There was quite a few RD 350's and RZ350's

Did you trailer your bike over from NSW?
Where were the other RZ's from?
You have just given me a bit of an idea to aim for: my RZ "should" be nearing the end of a very slow 18 month restoration and taking it to the Bradford show could be bags of fun especially if other fellow RZ500 fans and owners were there.
Love your bike, have been looking at the various picks for months.
Cheers
Stefan

Re: Broadford bike bonanza
Hi Stefan yes took my bike down in my van. There was one other guy from up my way with the RZ you see in the pictures I posted and another guy on a yellow RZ I don't know where he was from.
Also another guy fred I spoke to at broadford he said his YZR replica should be finished for next year.
There is also another guy from up my way that has a Rick Lance built RG500 and a bill Wilson built RZ500 that was supposed to attend but had a family thing crop up at the last moment and couldn't go so hopefully he can go next year also.
It was a great weekend, plenty of track time and more RZ's would be great hope to see you there next year.

Re: Broadford bike bonanza
That would be my friend Luis and his RG here...
If I disagree with everyone, that doesn't make me right. If I take the side of only one, it doesn't end the fight. If my position's strong enough from exposure to the light, you may see things my way when we share the same highway.
Re: Broadford bike bonanza
That's correct rick my good friend Dudley Lister looks after Luis's collection of bikes.

Incredible pics, awesome bikes...especially the Vincent's and that billet frame! Thanks for sharing such an awesome event!
I'm sure the RZ was a thrill on full throttle too!
