Alex, many thanks for motivating Mark (aka Dubsey) and me to come to this beautiful event. Mark had to drive 900 miles (= 15 hours) from the UK and he brought his charming daughter Jessica with him, who also planned to join a track session. Unfortunately it did not work out on saturday due to the rain. I drove 900km (9 hours) to Varano.

Italy has an incredible two-stroke spirit, I have not expected such enthusiasm concentrated at on place.

I was focused on the RD500´s and I have to say Alex´s two replicas are absolutely unbeatable. They have now reached the limit, I cannot imagine that anyone can do anything more perfect than these. The fact that he actually built 2 bikes in parallel, and both with the same consequent approach to not accept any compromises, is simply stunning.

Thanks again Alex and Dubsey, Forza Italia!

Happy Easter!

Guys, what can I say ? ............. I hate you both equally hahahahaha ;)

just got home (Tuesday 1 am) Seven countries England, France , Luxembourg, Belgium, Germany , Switzerland and Italy, wanted to say thankyou to wolfgang and alex for a great time and making me and jessica very welcome, thankyou

what a weekend , made new friends , saw some stunning pieces of two stroke art

Wolfgang you are a true gent and I was really pleased to meet you after all these years, not sure about your cockney accent (cor blimey Mary Poppins) :) Both of your bikes are incredible and I see even more of my mistakes now !

Alex you are wonderful person your English is as good as mine ! and far better than my Italian, you have raised the bar to a new level with your bikes they are absolutely stunning and most would not realise they are not the real thing just as Wolfgang has achieved !

I went out on track on the sunday, after my new friend showed me the way round, I rode possibly the best laps of my life, the 500 was faultless after many hours in the workshop the previous week with pv issues, kneedown on every corner back wheel in the air under braking front wheel in the air exiting the pits, For those laps I was Nakano ,if a little taller, the 1000cc bikes only got away on the straights and in the corners all was equal, until I became tired and went for an excursion across the grass and rejoined the track a little embarrassed, hope the track photographer got some pics.
Later in the day when we were putting the 500 away ready for another 900 miles, a guy came up to me and said 'you are the crazy englishman and the star of the day' hahahaha although the bike allowed me to be better than I actually am.

Clarkson from top gear once said everyone should own an alfa romeo, because only then you are a true petrolhead ,why , because 99% of the time they are difficult to live with to say the least, But for the other 1% when everything works perfectly is what we live for , Well replace alfa romeo with a 500 hybrid and he would be correct and I have just had my 1% :)

a great weekend but work in four hours .......

Didn't understand that you stay in Varano until sunday and have tha opportunituy to run on track

GREAT !
afer a long trip to Italy you deserve it

As i have way to say in Varano, our bikes are all high level of hobbistic buiding
the incredible thing is what we have make in different way to obtain the same result
a very similar YZR machines. All of them has their particularity and point of force
but all four are evocative and great in same way

also i noticed that very very few people understand really how many work is behind this buildings.

I'm very happy that you can run on sunday and yoy show to italians 4 strokers how a 500 replica
goes.

great Mark !
