Hello RZ500 Friends,
So were getting into some complicated bits on my buddies bike and I need help.
Examination of the servo system shows me that parts are marked 1 or 2.
The servo iteself is marked 1 & 2 on the housing.
The servo wheel is marked 1 & 2 and logically I think the each connects via the cable connection matching the housing.
The servo arms are marked 1 & 2 and things brake down here....
The arm IDs do not match the servo wheel. They are marked opposite.
Now this may be okay. The shop manual which IMHO leaves much to be desired seems to indicate this may be so.
Can some kindly explain the correct servo setup?
Next up...... Bent servo arms...
It looks like the servo arms may be bent. Maybe I'm expecting too much precision here. IT is just not perfectly straight.
The board says the attachment quota is met.... So I can't add a picture. Can anyone comment?
Thank you,
Tony H.

Okay maybe I'll get a reply now that there is a photo.

The arms do have slight bend in them. At least mine did. If you straighten them, I think you'll find they will bind on the pivots.

Tony,
The arms do not have a bend in them from the factory. What has occured is that your powervalves and or linkage has suffered from being too tight to allow the servo motor to rotate the valves. The link are in turn is the weakest link and thus bends from continued stress. They need to be straightened. Then the cylinders pulled, the valves removed, cleaned, the port hole for the valves in the cylinder cleaned, the holder caps cleaned and then all reassembled with a liberal amount of molybdenum disulfide grease. The linkage needs to be cleaned and serviced also including the cam system that rotates with the cables.
The powervalves likely were carboned up and stuck causing the bent rod(s).
Hope that helps.

Wow. Going to check through the parts were have here and see if there is another set to cross reference against.
The parts are small they don't strike me as taking kindly to being bent.
Will report back.
