Cool Runnings

#1 Post by Linx » Sat Apr 28, 2018 8:34 am

I fired up the RD for the first time in 6 months and refurb last weekend. Started 3rd kick and idles sweetly but the bottom right exhaust is much cooler than the other 3. I've cleaned and checked the carb OK. Spark is good too. Is there any common fault you can think of to cause this?

Is your injection oil level the same as it was when you parked it? When a bike sits the oil can leak through the injection pump, into the motor, and collect in the pipe. Most commonly affects the lower left pipe. If that's the case take the pipe off and dump out the oil.

Regardless, I'd change the spark plug.

I found the pilot jet was partially blocked. Wouldn't blow out with carb cleaner but cleared with a little brass wire [emoji4].
