3rd oversize; which cast pistons

#1 Post by franco » Wed Jan 03, 2018 2:50 pm

Hi.

I was running quite old and weary 56,88 original pistons. Need to go one step further. I wish to stay with cast units.

FRONT - It seems that I can target tzr250 early models for front, which would be 57,15mm, and they are easily available.
REAR - I tried Yambits for RD125LC pistons, 57,00mm. Yambits firmly state that RD125 piston has smaller crown height and discourage from purchasing them. They push to go directly for their RD500 57.40 kit. I do not like to loose all that skirt in machining process.

Any advice from you, in the field of cast pistons?
What other Yamaha model can I search for rear bank rd500 units?

Thanks, guys.

You can also use 4 front TZR250 pistons.
