Was Crank timing now Engine Rebuild Progress
Hi,
Next topic wasn't long coming around during my rebuild. Have cranks in and gearbox sorted. Now need to put the primary gears on cranks but a bit puzzled with the marks on my balance shaft. I read the balance shaft mod thread but it didnt clarify things fully for me. Have a picture below of my balance shaft which seems to have a squiggle and a sort of circle similar to what I have seen mentioned in the Balance Shaft Mod thread. Anyone able to clarify if these are actually the marks and which one should be used to match up to what. As always I would be really grateful for any comment, advice and help.
Regards
B

Hi,
Know how to do the crank timing now and have the cranks in and cases all bolted up. Before I do the timing I'm going to fit the pistons and barrels.

Hi
Here's a pic of my barrel, Just wondering what people think of the ports, do they look standard or do you reckon they've been tuned a bit??

Tuned a bit - at least knife edged transfers

Hi,
Back at it again doing another bit. Have cranks in, cases assembled , transmission installed, smaller drive gears, kick start assembly etc, primary gears and clutch housing/primary driven gear all installed, timed and torque up. So assembling the clutch now and seem to have one of the rings missing ( Part No 47X-16367-00 Ring, Cushion). Didnt lose it as had everything together from disassembly. Just wondering if there is any reason why this may have been left off by previous owner?? Clutch was working fine on the bike before starting the refurb, No Drag, No Slipping etc.
Be grateful for any comments or advice.

Hi Steve,
That would be great thanks. Obviously bike had been running without it before the tear down. Clutch seemed to work fine though so I was wondering if it was omitted on purpose for some reason, would that be possible or did someone just get it wrong????

You can put one in if you want, but the clutch will work just fine without it, as it did before you knew it was missing. They are still available new if you really need one.
