Water pump O ring seal

#1 Post by pstamper » Sun Dec 18, 2016 10:24 pm

Before I start calling, do any parts places carry the o-ring for water pump where it seals to the crankcase cover.
part # 93210-62274. Need to fix oil leak.

I found this as a cross reference

You don't want to get it from Yamaha?

Looks good to me - Yes, according to the owner's group parts list, the cross reference number you found and were able to locate at Boats.net is the correct number and will be available from any Yamaha dealer, but probably at a slightly higher cost than from Boats.net.

Other sources as follows:

http://www.partzilla.com/parts/search/Y ... parts.html

http://www.cyclepartswarehouse.com/oemp ... maha/parts

For just the one part, by the time you add in the shipping cost, it might be more cost effective to pick it up (order it) from your local Yamaha dealer - good luck!

Yes, 93210-62439 is the new number.
Buy it from Yamaha, they are expensive but...
1) They are Japanese standard or sometimes a Yamaha special part - might be hard to get outside of Japan, at least in Europe I haven`t found a source for buying them in small amounts...
2) They need to have the correct material and hardness - you can`t judge what Yamaha is using from looking at them.
As Example, the standard NBR material is good for oil but not resistant against coolant, same just the other way around with EPDM.
Only way to solve this issue is to buy FKM (Viton) O-rings, they are expensive but you can use it everywhere.
