#1 Post by begbie » Sat Mar 30, 2013 4:48 pm

Anyone have a clear picture of where all the pipes on the carbs go, my bike didnt have carb shields when i got it, and now i have some fitted im having a problem seeing how i can get them in as original.also the part circled in red was connected to the other carb on the same side, is this right or is this a breather ?
and the part circled in blue is this the vac take off for the fuel tap.

Great pictures, will help when I get to that part.

Quick question, are the heat shields really needed?

Keeping the fuel supply as cool as possible has some HP advantages and while I don't know if the RZ can generate the kind of heat needed, your fuel can actually boil in the float bowl. I'm actually going to add extra heat shielding under the tank and behind the stock shields.

I have run the bike without any issues since I got the bike together 3 seasons ago.

Thanks for the info, I will keep looking for some but will risk running it without.

The heat shields can get in the way when you're trying to connect the fuel pipes, but once you've done it once or twice, it gets easier.
