Just wondering if anyone has modified/removed the baffles from the standard cans?
I'm after pepping up the bike's sound a bit!
I could replace the lower cans(does anyone still make them?) but
what about the top pipes?
Thanks Mike.

Re: Uncorking the standard exhaust cans
Removed the cans today and ended up having a look inside.
It seems I have a 47X can and a 1GE one, both of which were mounted
upside down!(to hide scratches).
I drilled out the 3 pop rivets to release the baffle, but found I didn't need to
as the other one just knocked out with a drift.
Sand blasted the baffle tubes, considered doing the cans as well, but that would
lose the original finish. I think I will Scotchbrite them and see how they come up.

Re: Uncorking the standard exhaust cans
I used to run mine with them all removed. As you now know, the lower ones just knock out. No need to drill out the rivets. For the upper ones, I made a small metal plate with the three screw holes in and a hole in the centre the same diameter as the baffle. I then bought two chrome car tail pipes from my local car accessory shop, cut them down to size and after welding them to the plate, I painted the weld and fitted them. Looked great and sounded okay. Wasn't too loud at all. Not as loud as my subsequent Swarbricks anyway!
