What to buy Genuine carb parts etc no keyster parts

#1 Post by Dukeman » Wed Jul 23, 2014 12:01 pm

Hi,

I want to re-jet my RZV500.
Do not want to use keyster parts.

Need 165 mains, 22.5 pilots and 14hole emulsion tubes.

I have had a search but cant seem to find a place to purchase other than the Keyster rubbish kits.

Thanks

475 tubes still available are the the P so we are unable to ream them out
so you may have no opsion for the tubes Nrp carbs mancester do keyster

So they are able to supply mikuni jets but not the emulation tubes.
Looks like I will need to go keyster for 14 hole tubes.

Any comments on this?

thanks

they are sized

Rzv has n-6 front n-8 rear
some Rz have n-8 all round and some have 0-o... sized from lean to rich n-6, n-8, 0-o, then it comes into the p
yamaha went from 0-o to n-8 in the later bikes . the 0-o are far to rich

i have tested all the of them , keystar stock rzv and genuine rz n-8
i found no advantage in having the Rz tubes vs Rzv tubes , keystar are sized 0-o and were far to rich , just useless

there are some past threads on here of guys using Rzv tubes with pipes and wild porting and having no issues

the main restriction on the rzv is the pipe restrictor not the jetting

get the main and pilot jets from economy cycle, best place

i brought the other day a jet drill set . small metric number drills
im sure if you are that worried you can do the same and drill the extra 4 holes in the rzv tubes

I have just bought Mikuni jets from here, the choice was vast, I thought prices were competitive and once I combined items, postage was very good too. They took 2 weeks to arrive to Australia. Happy.

Hi, I fitted Keyster kits to my RZV 2 years ago and had no problems.

Thanks for the info guys, appreciated.
Looks like I will pick up the mains and pilots and a drill set.

NZmini, I am thinking that I might be wasting my time for a small gain when the bike is running well.

cheers

Hi,

I am using these:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/YAMAHA-RD500LC- ... 3a94c5c39f

It's not Keyster and I have had no troubles using them.

If I had a signature, it would be good.

those are keyster ,one place makes them and keyster puts there name on them

i have that set aswell . i would use the gaskets and thats it , needles are not worth it ,pilot and main you cant trust

and the tubes are sized 0_o i had them measured and they were bigger than the n-8s i have

dukeman you are right , if its running good dont play with it , im sure its the exhaust restrictors that are the issue not so much the jetting. on all 5 bikes i have had from japan the restrictors were gone but the jets were unchanged.

those kits are all over yahoo japan , i would have thought that all of my bikes would have been done , so if the japs dont feel the need to change it , im with them
