Hi Alex! Amazing work. I have a spare vdue engine myself, and will probably use it in a RS frame myself, after finishing some other projects.

However, I must mention one issue with you're carb inlet manifold. Some years ago, I converted a vdue injection bike to an evoluzione with vhsb 39 carbs. I also used a 90 degree bend for the carbs. The engine ran okay, but there was so much pressure drop in the 90 degree inlet, that the low pressure air inside made it cold and condesed water droplets came off on the outside. I could also feel it buy touching the manifold.

When I installed a FRP inlet manifold, it ran much better, especially on high revs.

Just wanted to mention it! Good luck with the project. I will use it as a guide when I'm redy to make my own RS500 :)

Alex- how do you form the exhaust pipe sections after cutting them out?

Sheet metal roller? By hand with a round anvil?

this is price
FRP mainfold Bimota (is plastic part) 418,00 incl. rubberpart and O-ring set + add. O-ring set for spare

I think you need also the filler/splitter part because it is not incl in Vdue injection motor:

FRP filler part für reed case 43,80 / pc.

so the 45 degree inlet set up seems to be the way forward
ive just bought all my parts from Piero including barrels and clutch
and now have a complete engine ,i have 39mm pwk carbs
only inlet parts i have other than the reed blocks are these ,but i have a plan just need to find some 45 degree inlet rubbers

Smoker, I have a similar one. Just make sure it rolls down to 1 inch diameter for the small stinger cone and of course a releasable roller to get it off. Mine is 1" x 12". Now available at Princess Auto for those of us in Canada for $169.99
