Unfortunately, I learned this morning that Ken Smith passed unexpectedly last Tuesday the 11th of September.
I have no information regarding the circumstances, only the e-mail from his wife Sharon to my wife Diane with the news.

I had lost touch with Ken after moving away from PA. We were pretty tight at that time. I regret not staying closer in touch with him. Many good times and knowledge passed between us.

RIP Ken.

That is very sad news, he was a long time member of the group.

Thanks for letting the group know.

This is sad news, indeed. Like Bill, I knew Ken for many many years. Super nice guy who loved two-stroke motorcycles. I'll never forget the time Ken and Bill rode their RZ500's about 2 hours each way to come visit with me at an outdoor motorcycle show I was working in Pennsylvania one year - remember that Bill?

I also had the pleasure of sharing a hotel room with Ken and Bill in Daytona Beach during Bike Week back in '03. Thought I'd share some pics of Ken that were taken during our club dinner gathering that weekend.

At the dinner table - Ken Smith (2nd one in from the right) and RZBill Pendergrass on the right

Outside the restaurant with myself, Tracy Burkhart and Ken Smith on the right.

And finally, Ken's pride and joy... his tastefully modified RZ500

Rest in Peace, my friend...
