As most of you know, aftermarket fiberglass parts never have the mounting tabs like the stock parts. So I cut up a busted up RG500 tail piece and marglassed in the mounting tabs for the tail light.

Mar-Glass is a fiberglass-reinforced filler that features high strength and superb adhesion.
It is a paste, just add the hardener and mix it. I like it because you can goop it on and then shape it with sand paper.

rgvsteve.com just sent me some more pics of the ignition mod in the side of the frame. Once the frame is sandblasted and powder coated it will blend in and will not be as noticeable.

Hi nick. What are the other mods for on the frame rails? Looks like major work. It'll not be easy to hide them welds and the work done.

I am having Steve grind down the ugly factory welds and re-weld over those areas with his nicer looking welds and in some areas do a side by side double weld.

Hi Nick, can't wait to see the finished product, I am building something similar from an RZ500, I like your bar set-up & headlight.

Thanks 0094, I would like to see some pictures of your build. Do you have it on a forum yet?

Hi Geakins, Nice project, I just finished my RG400 project some months ago. My bike is stock except for high flow air filter, jets, and float valves. Otherwise all stock, including bodywork. The 400 is seems faster than my 2X stock RG500's. I see your 500 pistons, are those from cruise-image on ebay, curious to see how they work for you. I dont think they have that machined flat for the wrist pin thrust washer, that good be added easy enough. I have a set of those in my RG400 and they have the machined flat and work great. Can not wait to see your finished product!

Can you say what you paid for your Penske geakins?

Keysdave, those are the cruzin image pistons.

geezagillard, I got the Penske shock from rg500.com, they are priced at $599.
The models with the reservoir are in the $800 to $1500 range.

Right now, rgvsteve has the frame and front end, he is doing the stem swap and making the mount for the gauge cluster.
