Not a big fan of the streetfighter style but this build looks pretty amazing. Will really be interesting to see it finished. Nice work so far.

Had some billet covers made for my K&N filters to cover up the ugly rubber ends. I will anodize them black.

Triple clamps by Mike Silvia from Diamond Back Designs - he made these to my specs and they turned out how I wanted them to look.
The mount for the gauges were incorporated into the top clamp.

Its coming along slower than I like, sort of lost some motivation working at Simi Valley Cycles for the last 3 1/2 years.
A lot of negativity and the way the store is run by the manager. Read the Yelp reviews, it speaks for itself.

I did score a nice used WW key set, which includes the gas cap, seat lock and ignition with the Genuine WW key and a bike lift from http://www.rg500.com" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;.

Image

The engine is not finished yet, Karl said the cylinders are still at the machine shop. Did get the re-cut and finished heads back.

Getting the R6 forks fitted with softer fork springs from Progressive.

Having the billet clutch cover refinished by Diamond Back Designs, the machine patterns on the cover looked have half assed finished.
I want the cover to have the same look as the triple clamps.

Keysdave wrote:Hi Geakins, Nice project, I just finished my RG400 project some months ago. My bike is stock except for high flow air filter, jets, and float valves. Otherwise all stock, including bodywork. The 400 is seems faster than my 2X stock RG500's. I see your 500 pistons, are those from cruise-image on ebay, curious to see how they work for you. I dont think they have that machined flat for the wrist pin thrust washer, that good be added easy enough. I have a set of those in my RG400 and they have the machined flat and work great. Can not wait to see your finished product!
Hi Keysdave , was wondering how the Cruzin Image RG 400 pistons , such as piston life & ring life , how many miles on pistons have you done . thank you in advance , Kind Regards Andrew

New tires and 90 degree valve stems from Kurveygirl.

A word of caution on the 90 degree valve stems,...... have seen these fly off at high speed. Not a good idea.

Seen the same thing with fitting bling "skull" valve caps..... will rip the valve right out of the rim.
