NS400R Parts Needed

#1 Post by MBevans » Mon May 07, 2012 8:03 pm

Anyone know of any north American Crankshaft refurbishers for the NS???

While there are great people accross the pond (that I'm already using for many bits) I was hoping to have the crank rebuilt over here.....

Any ideas??

Thanks kindly!
Mark

As I have worked on the South African version I am just telling you in case you don't know they are only 373cc not 387cc. This was done so bikes could race in a particular production bike class we ran there

Hi Mark
I was in the same situation as you a few years ago. It was cheaper for me to throw the dice and get a used engine from japan. You may still be able to get a roller from japan at a descent price. If I remember I ended up picking one up with shipping for less than $400.00

Contact Karl at http://www.rg500.com" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; store website
He has had cranks rebuilt for NS400Rs for his customers and supplies the special bearings with the roll pins.
He is in Cali
The crank seals are a bitch to get.
Contact Ian Wright for seals or a reconditioned crank ready to go.

And the status of crank center bearings is no better than it was.

I have managed to locate 6 sets of outside seals, but the center seals still elude me.

Centre seals are the easiest to get. Ian Wright had a new batch made by NOK. They have the seating lip of the Honda item. http://www.classicracereplicas.com/Mobi ... rod_ID=322

He also does crank bearings.

Still completing this little project. Like some projects it got sidelined and other projects have gotten finished.
The engine is just about finished, doing the chassis which is also about done.
Classic Replicas has made a bunch off of $$$$ off of me.

Fun little bike, still not as cool as my old 1985 RD500LC that I brought back from Europe in the day new in a crate, missing the RD!!!
