I think the production numbers are not far away from this list.

I have 4 here plus 3 more with friends and all fall in the 882 units 53G batch.
All have the longer exhaust pipes sticking out the rear top pipes.

Hi jamathi. The bikes from the second batch should have the longer pipes and the exhaust will be marked 1GE along with the airbox and have other 1ge parts. But for some reason the rzv500 from the second batch still used the short pipes but had all the other 1ge parts fitted.

Interesting info. Looks like I've got 2x Aussie delivered bikes. Just checked the numbers tonight. One is one of the early ones 53X-0008** and the other is one of the later one 53X-0044**

It seems there's more than 500 bikes in that first batch of Aussie 53G machines if my chassis number is up in the 800s

BTW nice bikes jamathi. I'm keen to paint the one I restore in the Roberts colors.

Cheers
Mike Murphy

here are 2 that I own briefly together, just before the show.
The yellow one normaly lives inside together with my NS400R in my model room.
The # of these bikes and the batches that they were made in intrigues me something bad!
Bit like a disease, trying to understand all the facets of it.s
