Was there not a front AND back stand going on eblag not long ago claiming to be original Yamaha kit?
To be honest, I've never heard of, or seen one till now.

Another one for the collection Steve.

I saw them stands for sale on ebay. I contacted the seller as I had never come across a genuine yamaha front stand before. When I bought my rear stand I was told by the dealer that there is no front stand available. Anyway, this seller said he had got the stand from the person he bought his bike off and he was told it was a genuine stand. I'm not so sure. He said it worked fine and he had no problems with it but it was a completely different style to the rear one, as if made by somebody else. Unless of course someone else can prove my dealer way back in 1985 was wrong of course!

It was not a rd500lc front stand as Yamaha never listed one for the bike, maybe it was a Yamaha universal stand from the 1990`s.

I'm pleased you said that! I would've been devastated if it was a specific front stand for the RD500LC and I let it go!
