Belly Pan RZV500R
A bit of an anorak question but very important non the less as I dont want to break my freshly repaired and brittle belly pan!
I have de-restricted and now in the process of simpathetically recommisioning my bike. I am at the stage of fitting the body work plastics however, when I bought the bike the belly pan was missing one of the rear brackets that fix it to the frame. Having had the belly pan plastic welded and found another similar mounting bracket off a wrecked belly pan I noticed that it seems a little tight to fit. Now I'm not sure if its because of the repair or because they are just like that or have I used an incorrect rear bracket. When I look on this message board there is a picture that is always referred to that shows the belly pan with brackets fitted for the RZ/RD. One of the bracket mounts appears off set (left hand side) by approx 5mm. I am using two straight brackets without the off set. With the off set the belly pan would be even more difficult to fit.
The question I am getting round to is; does anyone know if the belly pan brackets for the RZV are the same each side or are they like the RZ/RD with specific right and left hand brackets? Not as daft a question as you may initially think because the frame dimensions are different so why not different brackets.
Any replies much appreciated as its doing my head in especially as you cant just go and buy replacements.
Thanks - Trevor, Lancashire England

Alan - My conclusion is that my belly pan must have a degree of distortion because there is no way I could fit an off set bracket to the left side without breaking the plastic mount. I must admit that the bottom of the belly pan does seem a little closer to the left exhaust (virtually touching) than the right (approx 5-10mm away).
Thanks again for your help.

Thanks for the photo mate - very interesting. Can you confirm then that both the left and right hand belly pan brackets are the same on that NOS RZV belly pan? As I was under the impression that the right hand one was different - or is that on the RD only and not the RZV - how bloody confusing.
I hope both are the same as I have two the same from a spare belly pan.
Many thanks
Trevor
