The part number changing to "01" means Yamaha has someone else manufacture the part for them or a new batch made from the original maker.

It can also mean there is a small difference made to the part.

radiator cowl with curve on lower edge

#3 Post by LC Boy » Tue Aug 16, 2011 6:47 pm

I,ve just picked up a radiator cowl, but it has a curve in it on the bottom edge, looks like its for the front wheel to clear on some serious braking, my original cowling was straight all the way across the botton edge. Q. is the new cowling from a 1GE bike, Did Yamaha change the design later on? The cowing with the curve in does look like a factory mold and not hacked with a saw or knife? did the later bikes have this fitted? your answers will be much appreciated. Cheers LC Boy
