hi lads had a bit of luck at the weekend just got talking to a bloke on the love of bikes and he just happened to be selling this little baby what you think . i have a couple of questions should the saddle be ribbed like this and also how come the diff in the key lock surround from my std white and red 500 47X 1985 to the black surround 1GE 1985 as you can see the barrel is to short on the black bike ?

The seat is a custom job. It should look like your 47X seat.
The top clamp is correct for a 1GE bike. The ignition switch is not. On a 1GE bike the switch should be level with the top of the loop in the top clamp.
You didn't ask, but I will mention that the bike does have correct 1GE handlebars. You'll see the difference if you compare to 47X bars.
Very attractive bike. Looks to be well cared for.

My 47X switch is a different size (shorter) than my 1GE switch. I just checked the parts lists and both 47X and 1GE come up as 47X-82501-80. I know my 1GE is correct. That means either my 47X is wrong or the parts list is wrong. My guess would be that my 47X switch is wrong. On a 47X bike it really makes no difference. On a 1GE bike the problem is obvious. I amended my earlier post to reflect my findings.
The aftermarket ignition switches available are shorter than the correct 1GE switch. That is because they are modeled after the RD350/TZR250 switch.
I'm not sure if any other bike used the 47X-82501-80 switch.
