500 Two-Stroke Tech

Hi everyone, this is my first post here on the RZ500 Forum. I've been in the RZ350 site a little bit, but I've just acquired a very nice RZ500 with the help of some great folks on this site (silverstrom & fbman).

I've been collecting 2 stroke bikes for a few years now, I got my first NS400R back in 1998 and sold it (thats an interesting story by itself). I got another NS400R in 2012 and the sickness grew from there.

Im in near North Ontario Canada, up near North Bay.

I've heard great things about the folks on this forum and the knowledge thats shared here.

Here are a few pics of the new RZ500, Thanks to Frank and John for making this possible.



The RZ500 will join the rest of the old bike fleet TLR200 Reflex (original), NS400R (partial restoration), RG250 Gamma (restoration), FZR400 (Partial Resto), RZ350 (Original with Engine Work):


The Bike in the foreground that's on the operating table is an 1988 RGV250 VJ21 model J

Finally got the RZ500 plated and Insured and out for my first ride.

certainly more power than the NS400R and I havent really turned the tap that hard yet.

I was surprised how easily it pulls away from a dead stop, takes much less clutch slipping and fewer rev's than the NS400 and seems to have much more useable power in the lower RPM's.

definitely heavier, and not quite as nimble as the NS.

All in all, im very pleased, looking to putting on some more miles this summer.
