Duck fixed and track bike reassembly

#1 Post by pstamper » Sun Jan 24, 2016 3:39 pm

Nice weather luckily and taking the duck out since fuel pump issues repaired. Hope everyone is OK with the big snow storm. Have no idea what was done to repair bike because he said it was a secret. Something in the wiring harness. Frame and triple back back so starting to put the bike back together. Going to clean the shop up and make some room.

Swingarm back. $100 and he even smoothed the rough part on the top of the arm. Few issues on reassembly with front. The RZV frame has a steel bracket riveted to the steering head for the steering lock. It hit the ignition switch and hated to do it but I had to grind it down to clear. The steering stops need ground down also because there is hardly any steering. I looked at a couple new GSXRs and R6 bikes at the dealer today and they have more distance lock to lock. I am going to install the tank and see what clearance I have and go from there.

Some progress today after a mix-up on swing arm adapters. Transmission is repaired and should be back together this next and in the mail. Florida Steve was nice enough to call me back after my mix-up. Was nice to talk with him and he said he is still doing bikes but at a more retired pace. I would too. Hope to hear about my fairing stay. Would of had aluminum one made but I am still using oil injection so keep it simple. All electrical up front with one cable to PV controller. After looking at bike I should have gone silver on swing arm.
