- And more.....

TZR 125 R needs:

Ok, so now I have got started finally! Too much work during the autumn/winter.
Today I started to install Jolly Moto GP exhaust. Fantastic hand crafted expansion chambers. Bought them from Knalnaarpotz in the Netherlands. Excellent service from Erik.

Next will be to change air filters, Zeeltronic control unit and main jets.

Then I will start looking for an R6 fork.....

Some question to you who have removed the air filter boxes:
- How did you mount the choke, fuel cock and the coolant filler?

Exhaust:
- Do I have to secure the lower exhaust ( the one passing under the bike ) on the left side to? There seems to be a bracket that should do this? Not sure?
- The cans are bigger in diameter than OEM. Do I cut in the plastic? How?

Thats a nice bike!

I got a "Mad beaver airfilter kit" for sale. That will sort your problem.

I have JL GP pipes and there is a bracket that holds the lower left cross pipe. The bracket on JLs goes to the rear lower motor mount bolt and mounts to the pipe kinda next to the lower part of the chain

Thanks for your help.
Now I know were to fix the lower pipe.
Regarding the top cans, I think they sent me the wrong lenght ( 175 mm ). They protrude outside of the rear fairing with more than an inch ( 30 mm ) not measuring the smaller diameter outlet pipe.

Hi Cidair
on Jolly Motos I think as your pipes do the cans do actually protrude out through the rear meaning you have to cut out the exit holes bigger. Lomas pipes top silencers are a lot shorter so only the exit pipes stick through the existing holes. Jolly Moto might do a shorter version you would have to contact them. Nice looking bike by the way.
Rich.

Hi,

I bet the length of the JM silencers can be modified - It would just be having the nerve to start cutting !

Nice collection of bikes and good to see that the BMW has a useful function !

Cheers

I checked with Jolly Moto in Italy today - the silencers are of the correct lenght. The engineer told me that they didn't want to sacrifice any performance ( short silencers ? ).
So as You say, I have to cut out bigger holes. Didn't expect this, but so it is. Was hoping to keep as much as possible in original look ( and being able to restore it to original some time ), but guess I have to sacrifice a little.....to gain some nice sound and race looks.

Yeah, the 1600 always has to carry all the load.....now even in the garage.
It's a nice bike. Much better handling than you might think. Heavy pig when standing still or moving around in the garage. :-x The engine is fantastic!

Or buy this aftermarket piece and cut it rather than molest the stock piece. Need to match the paint, but it's still a better option than ruining the stock cover.
