Be careful what you wish for, this one's active suspension packed up after only 2 months, while 29 yrs later the 500 is still going strong!

Oops! Sorry to hear that.
My friend just took delivery of his HP4 last friday. I hope they solve the DDC issue quickly?

That is one nice pair of sportsbikes you have there!
The top of the 2-strokes together with the present top of the 4-stroke sportsbikes.

Sundaytimes:
I like the mirrors and turn signals on your RD.
Where did you find them?

Hi

The mirrors and turn signals are standard for an RZV500R (Japanese import) they are not the same as the RD500.

The HP4 is not actually my bike, it belongs to a club I'm a member of, so I get to use their bikes, HP4, HP2, Panigale, MV F4, RC8R, R1, Daytona 675, etc. The bikes been into BMW for a fix, they changed a "speed sensor" apparently, but as soon as the bike was ridden, DDC error came on again. My mate got his last Friday as well, he had the same error after 120 miles, they said his fault was with the wiring loom being routed incorrectly, so he's waiting for better weather to try it out again. Have you heard of any DDC problems in Sweden?

On the Dutch reg papers it says first registration 12 April 1988.
Was this the last year for the 500, or was it just late registeted ( -87 model )?

Today I finally got to ride a RD 500! My RD 500! Just fantastic!
Imagine me, 53 years old, riding this smokin old 2-stroke and just smiling all the time.
Best day in a long time.

Yesterday the battery went dead! How to access it?

Another reflection is that the gearing is very tall! I have 38T in the rear.
