Oil pump check valves

#1 Post by pstamper » Wed Oct 10, 2018 6:55 pm

Looking for a few check valves. Developed two stroke leak and pretty sure one of the valves cracked again. If you have any take a look that they are not cracked with magnifying glass to save any inconvenience.

Located some. Poor shop organization. Should of kept them with the pump. Down to two.

Paul

I'm still trying to find a proper sized fitting to replace the stock check valves. Install the fitting, attach hoses, use inline check valves. That solves the external and internal leaking problems. Perhaps the solution is to have a machinist make them. All you need is a stock check valve to get the thread size and also the hole i.d and o.d.

That is what I thought. I do not know if it is the track riding causing the cracks. I do have a few miles on the bike but not a constant 10k running.

This may be a good place to start. https://www.ebay.ca/itm/183268513703?va ... Track=true" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

I'll do some digging when I have time.

Thanks. Just a #10 screw. The inline valves work fine. The brass that cracks is the outer portion all the way to the the 10 millimeter portion. The metal is just thin. You would think it is designed to last more than 35 years. :grin:

The metal is very thin, but I haven't heard about cracks in that location before, but I've only been here a short time. The failures I've seen including my own, which was self induced, have been where the threads meet the 10 mm hex.

I'll have to measure again. I can't remember what size thread it is. M5?
