VForce 3i Reed Systems for RZ/RD500
Hello Gents,
Not sure how many are aware that Moto Tassinari have a new VForce3i reed system that is a great improvement for the RZ/RD500. Pic below shows them (these are for modern YZ85) and they only require minor mods to reed throats to fit.
Approx 0.8mm of material needs to be relieved on L and R sides of the cyl reed throats/reed castings.
Of course the manifolds need to be modded as well to mate with the flat-faced VForce manifold, and VForce stuffer matched to the new manifold aperture. Anyone needs advice on how to go about it, just sing out.
It's a similar job and a bit easier to fit these reeds to Aircooled RD250/350 and RD250LC and RD350LC and RZ250 - all you need to do is relieve the cylinder reed throats by that 0.8mm either side, and cut off the standard manifold stuffer ears, and the VForce3i stuffer aperture matches that of the manifold aperture.
Thing is, it's a much easier job than trying to fit the much larger RZ350 or Banshee reeds into the Aircooled RD/ LC/ RZ500. Nowhere near as much surgery required. These VForce3i reed systems are $97 each unit. Two required for Yamaha twins, four required for RZ/RD500.
We do also offer Banshee/RZ350 VForceIII Reed Systems with pre-modified intake boots, that seems to be going well.
About 18 months ago, feedback from the customers was that they were buying the Banshee VForceIII reed systems but then they were not confident about modifying the intake rubbers to suit.
Not everyone has the tools or the aptitude to do this, naturally. The other issue with RZ350s is their intake boots are just so hard by now, and they would split and crack when owners tried to cut the stuffer ears off. So I decided to pre-modify new intake boots, and package them with the Banshee reed systems. These are USD$230 for a pair of Banshee VForceIII reed systems and a pair of pre-modified intake manifolds, including shipping anywhere in the world.
Feel free to get in touch for any advice.
Best regards,
Steve Rothwell

Yes, I have to admit, this gaff is a veritable charnel-house of 2T artefacts, and further, a house of bawdy 2T assignations.
And the missus doesn't suspect a thing .......
TSS supplied the VForce3i reeds, and my good friend Hank of Hank's Engineering did the luscious job of rebuilding and fettling the engine. Hank's site is at http://www.hertmotorcycles.com - and I am delighted to report that Hank is a real craftsman and a fastidious engineer. Everything Hank does is spot-on. Full marks to that man!

$395 for four pieces, i.e. enough to do an RD/RZ500.
I have plenty of them in stock, ready to ship. Email me to order - info@twostrokeshop.com
