As I said in previous post I will make these seat molds sometime in February, & start making late Feb/March if thats ok?

I will contact those who have expressed an interest in February.

Many thanks
Best regards

Any idea of cost?

I should imagine shipping to the US will be in excess of a $100 - so cost will make a difference :)

Hi “RC45

As for cost I think the seat will be about £110-120 GBP. (Glassfiber)

I don’t know what the shipping would be at the moment, however I have had a thought of how to reduce your shipping out of the UK as it is expensive, I could send 2 seats in the one box & to split the shipping with Loaded, then you can ship it on to “Loaded in San Diego, just a thought, as shipping is based on volume-metric weight, not just the weight of the box as I am sure you are aware.
This could also be an option for “Bobby D & “Andy D who are both in Australia so again shipping costs could be reduced, just a thought let me know what you think.
Anyway it will be a few weeks before I start on making the molds.

As for quality & customer references, you could ask "Chrisb41" on the Aprilia RS250 forum http://www.apriliaforum.com/forums/foru" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; ... p?19-RS250

Alternatively you could contact "johnny485" on the Yamaha RD forum. http://www.yamaha-rd.com/forum/index.php" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Or you could ask "daverdyamaha" on this forum to come & veiw my work as he lives only a few miles away, no problem.

If you have any questions just ask.

Best regards

Bloody hell, that stuff looks good.

See, now this is how a person promotes their product. Pictures, references and confidence :).

Price sounds very reasonable as well, I look forward to doing business with you in the future.

Thanks for the thumbs up Vin.
I am up to my neck in work now trying to catch up all of last years time off!
The 500 is now making progress but it will be a very close thing to get it finished for the Isle of Man TT in June.
So more molds to make, a full set of YZR molds.

Vin,
Hows your infill panels coming on, have you made the plugs for them yet?

Best regards

Johnny C.

ps:- I have asked if this thread now needs to be moved into the "vendors forum" as this has now changed to making some parts for people & I dont want to get into trouble.
I await RZTom's reply.

Is that similar to the N Kimber one ?

I think Bill Roberts has something very similar to the fairing your after I remember a conversation with the guys from gibsons, when I said about building an early Gauloises rep, might be worth a try, he is based in wickford essex

Seen Johnny C's bike in the flesh with plenty nice carbon!!

You know you want some :-)

Dubsey think it originally started life from a Harris mould. Nigel might of copied it :-)

Hello Johnny,

I'm definitely in for a seat at that price and splitting the shipping is a great idea too.
When you're ready to start with the seats just let me know and I may even take a fairing OW69 fairing if you're doing those aswell.

Cheers,
Alex

Alex splitting the shipping to OZ for the seats sounds good to me, As soon as Johnny has fabricated them we can sort out the costs, how does that sound to you. PM me with your phone number if you want to talk.

Johnny great idea regarding splitting costs

Cheers

Just a quick up-date

I will have finally finished making the molds for the RG500 kit on Tuesday 21st.

http://s695.photobucket.com/albums/vv31" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; ... ?start=all

This took a bit longer than I expected due to the cold weather & also as I am in the process of moving house, so I lost a few days here and their (sorry chaps) but at least I am honest.

I have started on preparing the OW69 Seat unit parts for mold making.
I wasnt happy with the original parts ie the fitting / gaps ect.
So I am now correcting the gap / join line to make them a better fit.
I will up date in a week or so as to progress, & once the fitting line is sorted the molds will not take long.
When I have made these I will get back to my YZR500 project.

Best regards

Johnny C.
