Chain protector wear

#1 Post by Andrew Deans » Sat Oct 29, 2005 2:39 pm

Hi
While in the process of installing a new chain i checked all the other bits . Found that there are deep grooves worn into the top leading edge of the chain protector resulting in the outside links rubbing against the top of the phillips head retaining screw.
The bike has 20,000km on it , any ideas how long these should last and wether they can be re-conditioned or should i just replace it?

Regards
Andrew

Mine did the same. I don't think you can buy the guard any more... If you can, please tell me where. I had to use a long piece of flat hard rubber and feed it around the swingarm and connect it to the top and bottom, it seems to be lasting well and it's out of site so I dont really mind.
Andrew
