Engine stands

As the old post is gone here a new one... I should get the new batch of engine stands soon, 7 do not have a new owner up to now. Difference to the first 2 batches will be that they are made out of stainless steel without powder coating. Everything else is the same as on the 3 first pictures. Engine ...

Re: Brake discs

RN09 2002/2003 (gold "dots" and aluminium pistons)

RN01-04 have blue "dots" and steel pistons, otherwise they are the same as RN09
RN12 has radial mounting bolts - different design.

Re: seals for antidive units (brake fluid part )

As long as you don't have the design guidelines and the knowledge from testing the part it's hard to judge from the groove what the initial rubber dimensions should be. I have compared some old o-rings to new parts - they shrink over time, get deformed and stretched. Means an old o-ring often shows ...

Re: seals for antidive units (brake fluid part )

Yes I mean this "separators" 16165-1051 Good to know a source for them if they are the same - but looks good. On my anti dive units the steel washer is damaged by rust. The upper square ring needs to be brake fluid resistant (EPDM) and the lower one fork oil resistant (NBR). Upper square r...

Re: Oil injection pump o-ring part number

This oil pump is used in several different variants on different engines from moped to snow mobile. Some of the OEM's sell spare parts for such sub assemblies (Kawasaki, Suzuki). I recognized hat there are small changes in some places so it needs to be checked in detail if the parts fit to the rd500...

Re: seals for antidive units (brake fluid part )

They are simple square rings.
Not as common as o-rings but available in onlineshops.

I would be more interested in the ruber cap which sits in the groove of the upper piston.

Re: rd 500 gearbox oil pump

The gearbox is planned to get pressurized oil. Gearboxes with splash oil lubrication are designed in a different way like roller bearings on the gearwheels which can rotate on the shaft or at least there are design features which lead oil into the bearings. This bearings are not really loaded when t...

Re: VW Atlas/Cross Sport

Yes, you can get everything in Germany. There are enough dealers which are specialized to import cars from the US. But it's not officially sold here. The VR6 engine is quite old, I think the biggest issues should be sorted out. What I don't like is that VW is using a lot of "innovative" ne...

Re: VW Atlas/Cross Sport

Alfa = nice cars but it's Italian. They have a lot of issues, electrics and engine. We warned a friend but he bought one. He sold it 2 years later with a big loss because the problems never ended - including a new cylinder head. I don't know the VW in detail as it's not available in Europe but what ...

Re: Rear brake master/ slave cylinder part number?

Is the RD500 rebuild kit not available anymore? I got one without problems.

Difference between rd500 and 350 is that the ribs at the housing of the 500 are painted rge 350 are silver.
The 500 has a 47X mark in the casting.
From technical side they should be the same except pushrod length.

Re: RD500 Powervalve Joints

The PV timing is adjustable at the connecting wheel where both rods come together. It's a 2 piece design and when you loosen the 2 screws you can rotate them against each other. For the overall timing there is an adjuster in the cables. Only thing which is not adjustable is the rotation between the ...

A while ago I asked Koyo directly and the answer was that this bearings are not made anymore and they are not interested in making a small batch of them. Sadly I lost all this E-mails due to a harddrive crash... If you are iterested in 1000000pc they might talk to you :smt003 This is valid for this ...

I requested an offer at one prototype manufacturer but I was not happy with what I got back from them... Let`s try it with another supplier where I know that they can do such parts, but I guess the price will be somewhere near the current NOS part price with the difference that they are new and not ...
