Re: Yamaha parts on Ebay in Malesia... are original?

Ive come to think the ebay sellers are just trying to get in the searches when people use the term 'NOS', its annoying tho. New is not NOS as we know. Beware tho, just cos you could buy something a few years back for $3 doesnt make it a $3 part today. LC headlight buckets were $20 last year, now the...

Re: RZ500 /RD/500 parts

You can buy some parts like the brake master cylinder still from Yam, its a 3HE part number and you can replace the lid with your old one if you want the OEM look. The grease nipples are standard parts arent they? I expect still avaialble from yam or your local generic supplier? Fuel cap, there is a...

Re: What happened to Partzilla?

I left them after they nixed my trade account which I was gifted due to their incompetence. The management changed a few years back and its gone downhill since sadly.

Re: RZ500N rebuild

These are my thoughts too John, I have perfectly usable cranks (the engine ran fine before stripping) that I could put new bearings/seal in locally but I bought Gus' cranks as I read good things about them on here and figured it was a nice easy drop-in solution rather than deal with a crank rebuilde...

You got a good set that has correct sized rods that don't hit the cases. Others haven't been so lucky.
John, has there been an issue with some of Gus'd cranks? or do you mean from another source?

Re: Where is the Key number?

Looks like Ive found a key in the UK (Cheers Nigel if you read this!).

Another interesting thing noted today, my fuel cap also has '411' on the underside, same as my ignition switch.

Re: Where is the Key number?

Finally fitted my ignition decal and checked that I do have a white plug, so thats good news in that I have an original ignition switch. Phew. Checked my keys as well and they are two brand new Silica keys, YH31R coded, that the PO had cut so now I think he paid a locksmith to reverse cut keys from ...

Re: Triumph Calipers and Vented OEM Discs

Thanks John, I didnt know it was 14mm. Quite a lot of 14mm masters out there but none that look like the OEM 500's coffin top I suspect.

Re: Triumph Calipers and Vented OEM Discs

Isnt the Triumph master cylinder also a 5/8 John? I ask that as I know lots of guys have used the Triumphs on the 350s with the OEM master which is 5/8.

Re: FUNC ME

Not 'drop in' but also not impossible as its nothing a quick Dremel wouldnt fix tho? Its 3.5mm all round... You would also need to redrill the mounting holes as well I would think. I guess it depends on how much you want to do it and how easy the brackets are to find? Im wondering what is another br...

Re: Vesrah RD500 Gasket kits

you could spray the HG with a copper coating I guess. I tend to only ever use OEM Head and base gaskets in my builds but agree the others paper gaskets are very likely fine.
