Re: Vesrah RD500 Gasket kits

Used a number of Vesrah sets including head gaskets on RZ500's. No problems at all. Yambits sets OK, but not for head gaskets.

Re: DIY Ventilator- COVID-19

Please do NOT go to a Scuba shop, it's probably not and should not be open. This ain't a hobby task!! There's plenty of real projects going on such as this by people who know exactly what is needed and with the knowhow to do it very quickly. Just one example within the motorsports field. https://www...

Re: Pre-mix or oil tank

Hi Chieftan, There's a number of threads on this site showing members experiences with the setting of the oil pump, but as the other guys have suggested they run very very oily on the standard pump settings. My experience is that you can back the pump considerably from the standard settings and stil...

Re: Motul gearbox oils?

Penrite MC4ST works very well. Used it in a number of bikes along with their 2 stroke oil. There is selector on their website, have a look. I'm not a cheapskate particularly on oils, but it is a fraction of the cost of many others and widely available from Super cheap Auto and Repco. Penrite have a ...

Re: o-ringed heads

Hi Trix, yes, just sold it. I think I used the NE brand gaskets on the 350lc at a time and they were hit and miss on both the heads and engine. I have always since used Yamaha head gaskets on the 350. Could not get a Vesrah set. On the 500, the Yamaha head gaskets were harder to get and expensive. I...

Re: o-ringed heads

If not Yamaha, try Vesrah. Used them number of times and they were fine on 500's and 350's. Had issues with other cheaper brands.

RD350LC (80 to 82) intake carb rubbers will do the same job as the KR1S rubbers for TM28's and you can get them more readily.

Re: Australian RZ500 rescue.

Hi Hobbsy,
I can certainly recommend Dudley. Its worth a visit and a chat. He has done a few engines for me and he knows the RZ very well. Most importantly he is very meticulous. I'm near Terrigal so send me a PM if you want a chat.

Re: Stock Ride Hight and Steering Head Angle Vrs. Ideal?

Most modern sports bikes will be in the 24deg rake angle region. I'm not sure that + or minus 1 deg will make that much difference as there's a lot of other contributing factors, wheelbase, trail, weight distribution, suspension, wheel size, tyres, 30 year old frame, rider ability (big influence). I...
