Re: Yamaha R6 rear wheel in RD500 swingarm
Yes you are right that was the issue when I looked into it the YZF600 wheel is not quite as wide and does only just fit so anything bigger in stock swinging arm will require a large hammer!

Re: Yamaha R6 rear wheel in RD500 swingarm
Done the Yamaha YZF600 17" conversion in the stock swinging arm. Pretty easy, I think the R6 is more tricky from memory when I was researching

Re: 02 YZF600R rear wheel in stock swingarm possibilities?
Hi Busa, yes a wheel spacer is required it is 21mm wide. The Dymags look good but come at a cost. My set up cost approx £75 including wheel and maching and doesnt look that inferior. I have FZR1000 forks/wheel and brakes so the wheels are a visually matched pair. good luck

Re: 02 YZF600R rear wheel in stock swingarm possibilities?
Hi Mate, I did this conversion a long time ago and you need to machine 13mm off the bracket, the thinnest section of the bracket is about 10mm so still ok. I've never held back from braking hard and it has been fine.

Re: Nitron Rear Shocks
nitron rear shock tranforms the handling because it works unlike probably your knackered original!
I'd recommend it and not a bad price at around £200 with spring to suit your weight

Re: Which Emulsion Tubes to use with Ivan's Kit
Hi Linx - I have installed Ivans emulsion tubes and the bike is now sorted they are the standard 1GE tubes. With the correct tubes and Ivans needles I think that is as good as it gets and it it really nice now. I might try the 1.4 but at the moment I am pretty happy so I'm riding it

Re: Newbie With Running Problem
Hi, I have heard of them but no experience of how they perform. Sound like they are the perfect solution and would be interested to know how you get on if you go for them.
I dont think they have not been discussed on this forum and this would make me a bit cautious.

Re: Newbie With Running Problem
Hi Linx, I had the same problems. Its better when at higher revs but at low to medium revs when cruising in traffic I found it a real pain. Its took me years to sort out to my satisfaction but I am fussy. My first step was to clean the carbs with correct needle and jets for your model and state of t...

Carb balance between front and rears different
Hi, I have just finished using a set of vacuum gauges on my modded carbs (added barbs on the each carb) to check the balance and found they just needed minor tweaks to make the 2 rears spot on with each other and the 2 fronts the same. The funny thing is the two rear cylinders pull a lower vacuum th...

Re: "Opening" air jet: Why? Clip on needle question
Hi - if you are saying there is no air jet fitted to the threaded orifice then the equivalent orifice size would be massive may be 3 mm diameter or more. Bearing in mind the standard is #1.1 (I assume this is 1.1mm dia.) this modification will allow way too much air into the pilot circuit. I doubt t...

Re: Carb service while down
Hi can you tell me what those emulsion tubes/needle jets are? They appear to only have two holes drilled through instead of the 7 holes (full power bikes) or 5 holes restricted RZV. I ask because I have had no end of fun (hassle) playing around with various N-8 and O-0 tubes to get my bike to run sw...

Re: Fuel levels 5mm below bowl seam? Fluffy below 3000...
my bikes is like riding a 4 stroke at low to mid revs plenty torque will pull away on tickover/1500 revs easy. Sounds like yours is running weak on the pilot circuit and then rich on the needle. Could be low fuel level causing the low throttle problems and then you have raised the needle to compensa...
