Whatever you do, do not overtighten the head nuts, as you can pull the stud out of the barrel. Seen it done, by someone using a torque wrench that was way out of calibration.

Barrel base to crankcase is 28Nm for the nut. 13Nm for the stud.
Head nuts are 22Nm, studs are 13Nm.

Good luck finding one. But i would have thought that less than 100 bucks posted would have been a steal. You see these go for over £100 plus shipping all of the time, as people want them for LC's and 350 YPVS. Have you tried the guy in Canada on ebay, who breaks RD/RZ 500's. His ebay id is "...

Took the chance and got another from someone on ebay, Removed from packaging and offered up against the first one. The new one is almost 6 inches (150mm) shorter in total length. Fitted to the bike and hey presto everything fits. (except the metal nipple on the outer which pushes into the oil pump l...

Got it off ebay about 3 years ago, been hung up on the garage wall until now. Have now ordered another so will let you know if this one is ok when it arrives, if its too long I am getting my money back and will just have to live with paying for a genuine Yamaha one. It should not be a surprise to me...

Throttle cable

Fitted a pattern throttle and pump cable and it appears to be far too long on the pump length. All the other lengths also seem to be long. Phoned up for the price of new Yamaha one and its £82  Has anyone bought a pattern one that actually fits ok, if so where did you get it from? Regards ...

Hi guys, Do the throttle cables run over the clock/ fairing bracket , under it or through it. The manual is not too clear.

It will be a good tune if Mick has done it. He is a good tuner and a very nice guy to talk too. Even if he did have a RG and not an RD. :smt002

Ordered from motoward will be here for Friday.

Would have made my own up if I had a good template and the time to find some gasket material and then the time to do it. Not enough hours in the day at the moment.

Regards Jack
