Re: Engine start problem after TSI mods
Hi all, I cannot start my engine after modifying it as per TSI. I measure now 125 psi compression in each cylinder: have I gone too far? The thing is I weight 63 Kg, and my son who weights 80 kg has no problem to start the engine! Should I put 20 kg in my backpack and try again? Happy new year all!...

Re: RD500 fork bottoms out
PDQ in the UK will provide springs according to your weight - get Racetech emulators for the damping as well - they make a massive difference - a new shock such as Nitron or Hagon for your weight will also help the handling.

Re: Question about earth wire
Hi,
On my 47X bike the earth wire was attached between the top battery box bracket (47x-21395-00) and the frame bracket behind the plastic battery box
Cheers

Re: Hose Tail Brass Fitting for Check Valve Replacement
I’ve seen a few crack as well. I think removing the old ones is an excellent idea. It also eliminates any chance of the old one sticking closed. As always great ideas from club members. Quite scary that they can crack - I’m sure totally new Yamaha valves and the new connectors is the best and safes...

Re: Hose Tail Brass Fitting for Check Valve Replacement
I have been using inline valves since putting bike together and nothing but track time. The OEM ones are still installed but if those adapters will work why not remove the stock valves? I would have taken mine out if i could have located those and they fit. My issue with the stock check valves is c...

Re: Hose Tail Brass Fitting for Check Valve Replacement
Hi Mike,
This needs care though - I've had the OEm valves seize in both the open and closed positions.

Re: Just lost the mid-range on my modified RZV500R
Did his dyno do A/F ratio or CO. I take it no EGTs are installed. I always run the same main jets in mine. Could be float levels. But if it is running well, congrats. No EGT’s fitted . The dyno was a new Dynostars dyno z as nd it looked at A/F ratio’s It was Dave at MuttsNuts who did the work. Chee...

Re: Just lost the mid-range on my modified RZV500R
Sounds reasonable. Mine with oval bored carbs that Rick Lance did with pipes and Zeel is 90 and 47 ft lb. I believe around 9,500 to 10 k max power. Shift at that point or 9 when at the track. Those 4 carbs are a bitch. The carbs were hard work - they all ended up a little bit different on needle he...

Re: Just lost the mid-range on my modified RZV500R
Hi Everyone- Thanks for your advice and information- much appreciated - there were quite a few problems going on - The Zeeltronic lost all of its data and had just a few nonesense values left over which allowed the engine to run …. The jetting changed quite a bit …. Both pilot and mains …. It needed...

Re: Just lost the mid-range on my modified RZV500R
BTW: On my RD350's an engine rebuild (i.e. new pistons & honed bore) typically makes it require a slightly richer setting, if the old state had a rather low'ish compression (worn bore, rings stuck due to carbon) Especially on the EFI bike this is extremely visible as I'm running AlphaN which me...

Re: Just lost the mid-range on my modified RZV500R
the only odd thing found so far are the YPVS and ignition values in the Zeeltronic which are nothing like the ones the dyno guy put in This will have a huge effect, so that'll be my #1 suspect. But they don't change on their own. Someone has either changed that or missed to save optimized settings....
