Re: 47X build year

I agree that all 47X are built in 1984. But getting a second opinion is always nice. Thanks.

I wouldn't be able to say if the ride is different. I bought my 47X with defective engine, so haven't ridden it yet. I wouldn't expect any differences.

"This fairing was manufactured in Japan.."

Gents, While giving my 47X a makeover, I have decided that there is need for a respray of the plastics. small cracks needs repairing and there is some damage from a drop. Anyway - on the inside of the fairing I found this label: https://i.postimg.cc/CMRnRQVP/2023-12-31-13-42-44-1-low-res.jpg Do you ...

Can't attach pictures

Hi gents,

When I try to attach a picture, I get this message: "Error. Sorry, the board attachment quota has been reached."

Is it only me, or are you all affected by it?

Parts needed for 47X

I'm afraid I need your help again. I am giving my 47X a makeover and while it's in good condition (Italian import, 20.000 kilometres), it's missing some parts. So far I need these parts: 47X-2163A-00 Chromed Heat shield, left upper exhaust. 47X-2172E-00 Stay, right side next to rear light. I actuall...

47X build year

Hello gents, After having enjoyed my 1GE for 20 years, I recently bought a 47X. The frame number is 47X0028**. This bike was originally licensed in Italy and despite it being a 47X, it shows May 1987 as it "First licensed date". While this may be correct, is it safe to assume that all 47X ...

Re: Strange twist with the usual brake upgrade

When Nigel made mine (maybe 15 years ago), I sent the R1 discs and calibers to him, to make sure that the meassurements were correct.
I wonder if the first set of adapters he made was for me?
They did fit straight on, but they are not as smart looking at the more recent ones.

Re: Rev counter playing up

Is the battery fully charged and/or is the bike charging as it should? Sluggish rev counter is usually a sign of low charge on the battery on these bikes.

Is the battery fully charged? It can be as simple as that.

Re: Rear footpeg interchangability?

Take a look at Yamaha DT 125 X. My sons both ride 2004 DT 125 X (DE06) and they appear to have the same foot pegs rear, as fitted to our RD 500's. They even have provision for being drilled and tapped to have the wear bolts fitted underneath. Take a look here: https://cdn.visordown.com/11011_0.jpg T...

What about windshield adhesive? It bonds to paint and rubber and is easy to work with.

Nice repair!

I've been using Plastex for years and I consider it the best product for this, by far. It takes a little practice, but overall a great product.
