Re: Separating the Crankcase
DOH !!! Happy Days, we have a separation. No not her indoors but the crankcases. Two hours of warming and there apart and then looked for the pry points. Just had to remove two more bolts underneath by the shock I'd missed. Bolts 13 & 14 I think the numbers are. No crankcases were harmed with al...

Pistons. Yes that old chestnut
Doing a re-bore and the guru tells me to go for 2ma or 2rk (early ones) and not to worry about windows for the upper pistons.
So who has the part numbers please for both types
TIA

Engine Bolts 15 & 16
Is this the reason bolts 15 & 16 are barstewards to free off? Both are open to the elements under the lower case. Crud doesn't get in but moisture will attack and work it's way up the threads. Filling with grease won't help as the warmth from the engine will probably make it runny I plan putting...

Separating the Crankcase
Best method to part them now I have all the bolts out? Last time I did this I sealed them with the product Allen Millyard uses, Permatex ultra grey and they are now being a pain. Shame Yamaha didn't instill some 'jacking' points so they could be jacked apart to help with separating them😡, or did the...

Carb Clip / 90460-42261
Has anyone got a solution if the OEM ones on the bike are shot? Fortunately both my lower ones reached from the lower cylinder head came free after two days wait and good old WD40 The uppers were screwdriver tight. On the lower set I used a 7mm socket to get them free. Thought for a minute the previ...

Yamaha only as fancying a water cooled 'new' build but will need to be from 350cc so I can get to at least 525cc or over
Would be USD Forks and single shock rear
May consider selling the RZV500R to get one put together
