Re: YZF600 (pre R6) front wheel in std front forks
Hi Mike. I’ve seen the description on work needed to fit the entire front end of the YZF600 into the RD chassis. I’m going to fit the YZF front wheel in between original forks. I have found NK Racing are selling some brake-brackets to fit 298 mm discs, and have found on another site that the distanc...

YZF600 (pre R6) front wheel in std front forks
Hi I find a lot of posts about swapping the whole front on the RD500 for something newer and more functional, but I want to keep the original forks. I have previously installed gold valve emulators on those forks and are happy with the way they work. I have found instructions on how to install YZF60...

Re: Dyna Tek Coils
Also using these on my RD. See link https://www.rzrd500.com/500phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=14706 where Rick Lance answers my question and recommends these Dynatek 0.5 ohms. Using resistor type plugcaps. Works well in my setup, but required me to fabricate new brackets. Managed to keep them in the...

Re: Zeeltronic PDCI-24V and tacho problems
Seems my tacho is dead, more or less...... It´s doing its own thing constantly now. No change when taking the signal directly off the orange wire to the coil. Reg/rec and battery is ok. I see from other posts that the FZ750 is (sizewise) a direct fit. Redlined at 11000 rpm, but I can live with that....

Re: Zeeltronic PDCI-24V and tacho problems
The battery is new and charging is good. Relatively new reg/rec. No other tach available to swap, but it worked before the Zeel/Coil modification. The recommendation for the new coils came from from Rick Lance, so I trust those are good. Oh well.....

Re: Zeeltronic PDCI-24V and tacho problems
I've seen that method mentioned on here a couple of times. If that's a safe way to do it (for the tacho), then maybe I´ll have to give that a go also.....

Zeeltronic PDCI-24V and tacho problems
Hi More questions regarding implementation of the Zeeltronic PDCI-24V. All put together, and everything apparently works fine. The only thing is the tacho..... I see a lot of tacho-problems described on this forum, but I cannot find my exact problem described. It is constantly "underreading&quo...

Re: Zeeltronic PDCI-24V and PV adjustment
Ok, Martin. Thats good info. I have the closed position around 300 points from open position at the moment. So at least I´m in the ballpark. I´ll play around a little at low rpm also, to see if I can find any "hidden ponies" down low in the rpm range..

Re: Zeeltronic PDCI-24V and PV adjustment
From the Zeeltronic manual for PDCI-24V: 26. CLOSE POSITION Max close position must be calibrated after installation. Max close position is when curve is set to 0%. Close position can be moved to any desired position. Enter Set PV menu and move to Close Position with pressing + or - and then press E...

Zeeltronic PDCI-24V and PV adjustment
Hi Just installed a Zeeltronic PDCI-24V on my RD500. This is the combined CDI/PV-controller. On the handheld controller you can set a start point and an end point for the PV travel. The numbers are in the region of 200´ish (closed PV) to 500´ish (open PV) on my bike. Finding the full open position i...

Re: Hi - need some help and advice
Hi Jens! Another 51 year old norwegian chiming in; living near Stavanger in the southwest... Well, you sure have balls!!:-) I bought my RD three years ago for 90000 NOK (10000 USD) and have spent about half that to get it to where it is today. And it looked decent to start with.... These things cost...

Re: Position of top hole in aft top fairing
Ok. That makes sense! I saw (as per your picture) a total of five circles under there, so didn't think much about it. Just pulled off the heatshield&tape on the back of the aft side covers also. Same indications where to bore the holes there also it seems! Thanks again,; you're as always very he...

Position of top hole in aft top fairing
Hi
Repainting my set of used RZV fairings to fit my RD500.
Would like to have the original aft grab rail installed, but unsure exactly where to drill in the little top/aft fairing.
(Do have access to the aft side fairings, so happy with that.)
Anybody willing to do some measurements?
Oyvind
