Re: crankshaft need adjust

I believe Yamaha sold sub-assemblies because they were cheaper for them to stock then to have all those webs and individual bearings laying around, Yamaha never made a RZ500 crankshaft their suppliers did and they dictated to them by cost which way to go.

Re: hard to rotate the lower shaft after changed bearing

its not really out of balance its out of phase it should do the same in the lower or upper crankcase as the bearing is what locates it, put your indicator on the shaft or even the bearing not the web and like everyone says get a copper hammer and get it back in phase (or align) with the inner web, t...

Re: Race engine build

Wolfgangh's looks like the triple is not pulled back enough to hit the wrist pin area so hopefully the area above the pin is solid so he'll be good to go.

Re: Race engine build

Wolfgangh I remember the first time doing that (triple port exhaust) and having a piston with the lightening indents above the wrist pin, the exhaust would short circuit into the transfers and it ran real bad, changed to a piston that was solid and the terrible jetting and no powerband stopped immed...

Re: deck height for std. pistons

wow Wolfgangh I see what you mean has a thermo like the 350 has here in the states, that would be easy enough to draw in.
