Re: 1984 RZV500R the dream is becoming reality

One at a time! I try to keep it one at a time… but I seem to start another before the previous is completely 100% finished. This TS400 with a TM400 engine has been my most recent thorn in my side. But I am at the stage of bolting on instead of tearing apart, so the project might get finished after ...

Re: Steve Parrish's F1 bike

That has to be one of the coolest RZ500 based bikes ever built.
Very impressive history, and so happy it is still alive and getting positive attention.

Re: Input shaft, for dry clutch help

Do you have a link from where you got your dry clutch set up from?

Re: 1984 RZV500R the dream is becoming reality

Various issues, with fuel system (gas tank and petcock) caused the RZV to sit most all of the season. Float bowls now look clean after some miles on it, bike still runs strong up top, no fuel leaking anywhere…. I think I can maybe try to gain some trust in it, and ride it finally this season. https:...

Re: 1984 RZV500R the dream is becoming reality

Thanks guys :smt003 Some heat cycles on the bench, then a few miles on the road to get the new piston comfortable in it's new environment. Was 35 degrees the day I took it out, so not many miles, and tuning was out of the question. https://www.advrider.com/f/attachments/29d2b16f-92e9-47c4-bd82-d133b...

Re: 1984 RZV500R the dream is becoming reality

Two strokes can be a pain in the ass, and sometimes a 4 stroke can make things so much easier. Bought this one year ago for my Christmas present. ....2021 Aprilia RSV4 1100....217 at the crank..... Along with a few HP add ons.... And after one year of use, I am still alive..... :smt007 https://www.a...

Re: Ordered smartcarbs

Rods for the Lectrons were $30 each...I have tried 3 sets and still no luck.
Maybe the new carbs have it figured out better with needle design.

I will watch, as I am tired of pulling my stock RZV carbs off endlessly for issues

Re: Ordered smartcarbs

Hope you have better luck with those than I did with the Lectrons I got for my RGV last year....
I finally gave up and have a stock set of carbs to go back on...

Re: Painting

I paint my own bikes
Used RD decals for the stripes on my RZ, they are good quality and look identical to original

Re: Jetting with pod filter on elephant ears

I made some of the Atchison needles for my RZV, and it cleared up the 5500 stutter.
Have 230's and dyno showed just slightly lean still, have 240's to go in next time I talk myself into puling carbs.
Using uni's on elephant ears, with jolly pipes
Can't remember 25's or 27.5 pilots

Re: scam?

You can get close to 80 at the rear wheel with a big bore RGV engine...way easier than changing mounts and everything else for a Yamaha engine.

Re: Operation: MOSQUITO CONTROL BIKE - Florida RZ500 Project (52X)

I used that tap on my bike.
I just made a different heat shield.
Getting at the lever takes a bit of practice without lifting the tank.
