Re: My RD 500 is soon home

#250 doesn´t seem to be enough. Will try #300 as next step.

Re: My RD 500 is soon home

#250 main jets mounted. Much much better response. Just that last 5% missing.
Will check the position of the needles now.

Re: My RD 500 is soon home

I have #250 in the garage. Maybe try these? I'm getting more and more confused about this, the more effort I try to put in to solve the problem......

Re: My RD 500 is soon home

Long time since last post. Still working on to get the 5k-7k to work properly. It just stumbles when I open the throttle. Have Jolly pipes and open air filters. Changed to #1.4 pilot air jet, #30 pilot jet. Have #210 main jets. Now it also hesitates when I open up the throttle fully at around 8.5-9k...

Re: Fuel leak after riding

Opened the garage doors today and almost fell backwards by the very intense smell of fuel...... Gave the 500 a long row of very bad words before I realized that she was not responsible. :-( It was a fuel canister that had cracked and there had leaked at least half a litre of fuel on the floor. Now I...

Re: Fuel leak after riding

Problem solved! It was the fuel line to the left rear carb.

Took it for a test ride today. Nice and sunny day. Total 140 km distance. No problems.
It ran like a clock. So fantastic this bike is! I love it! :-)

Re: Fuel leak after riding

What is the right diameter ( inner/outer ) for the fuel supply hoses?

Nothing coming from the vent lines on the bowls.

Re: Fuel leak after riding

Started looking into it today. Found a cracked fuel hose, on the left rear carb. It's the fuel supply hose, coming from the forward carb. So I guess this was it? Seems too easy? I saw the leak immediately after starting the engine with the cowls off. It was constantly dripping during engine running....

Re: Fuel leak after riding

Thinking about it again, and the fact that it stops after a few days not running, I think there is a good possibility that the leak is from the bowl. A slow drip over a few days until the bowl is dry then the leak stops. In that case you want to check the bowl drain screws to make sure they are tig...

Re: Fuel leak after riding

Sorry if I was unclear, but it is leaking fuel when it is standing still. It stops after a copke of days in the garage. Then if I run it again and put it in the garage it starts leaking for some days.

Fuel leak after riding

I have a problem with my bike leaking fuel. It is always after riding ( engine has been running ). It smells fuel ( leaks? ) a couple of days in the garage, and then stops.
It doesn't seem to be the fuel cock. Could it be the carbs?

Re: Gear shifter problem

Problem solved with black silicone gasket. The o-rings alone will not do the job of sealing.
I guess the water jacket is worn?
