Re: Soft front suspension

In long high speed corners ( especially when the road is alittle bumpy ) the bike is unstable. It snakes and wobbles. :-(

What to do? New rear shock?

Soft front suspension

When I hit road bumps ( at higher speeds ) or when braking hard, the front suspension compresses to max. You feel and heat a thunk. Metal to metal!

New springs / oil or what? Progressive springs available?

I've only ridden my bike for 200km, so I'm not very experienced with this bike.

Re: My RD 500 is soon home

How do I find a bigger rear sprocket then? Is there bigger ones for the RD, or does some other bikes sprockets fit? I've been buying mine from addemoto.se since the mid 90s. They are close by where I live and have reasonable prices. Not sure which bike the 44T are meant for originally. Give them a ...

Re: My RD 500 is soon home

To access the battery, remove the seat and the left rear panel. Quite easily done. Four screws in total if I remember correctly. I changed to a 44T rear sprocket many years ago, and have never gone back. Thanks! I can understand that You changed to a bigger sprocket! 44T is a big change from 38T th...

Re: My RD 500 is soon home

Yesterday the battery went dead! How to access it?

Another reflection is that the gearing is very tall! I have 38T in the rear.

Correct front/rear sprockets for 1GE bike?

Hi!

Just got my RD 500 ( 1GE ). I find it to be very high geared. When I drive it in 1st gear, it feels like 2nd or 3rd!

At the rear there is a 38T sprocket. Front I haven't checked.

What is the correct gearing? For the 47x it says ( parts manual ) 15/38.
