why not refit the stock cdi and measure the closed height ?
then you can remeasure it when you refit the zeel and match them up

Re: RZV500R....An attempt at turning back the clock
they did have clear protective strips on the frame rails , Thats what you will be seeing looks to be some residue left on there
are you going to soda blast the frame ? will that damage the anodizing ?

I have a yambits web on one of my cranks as one of the pins was pitted
I got the pin drilled . not a very easy task . but by the end it was the same weight as the stock web

Re: NLA Coolant hoses
think i put it on the bike in 2013
i dont see any issue , quality american made hose , fuel is far worse than glycol
yamaha would not put a special high tech hose standard ,
if your worried im sure you can parts fiche hunt down something qenuine and similar

ive used a few chinese ones in my cars and had 2 of them fail !
there are some threads about quality over on the 350 side
think its hit and miss . some people they work fine for and some they leak

Re: RZV500R....An attempt at turning back the clock
just did a 80km ride with the zeel fitted
feels so much crisper now , move the open rpm to 9k
think just a more modern box with slightly different values helped
520 chain conversion is well worth it , R1 front sprocket and Rz350 rear

in trade we use 3M™ Panel Bonding Adhesive for fixing plastics like the 500 farings
3m do one for plastic repair but its not as good as the panel bond
on my 350 ive welded where i can and panel bond everywhere else , works very well , you will be hard pressed to find a better product
